Quotes From Skills for Care |

"It is important to emphasise that workers who have undertaken relevant NVQs or VRQs have already got legitimate qualifications that demonstrate competency, and these qualifications will continue to be recognised once the new QCF is in place"
"The NVQ remains a good recognised qualification and does not mean that anyone who has gained an NVQ will have to do a QCF equivalent."

QCF Update NVQs ARE NOT DEAD – AND ARE DEFINITELY NOT DYING. Marathon became Snickers – Bounty became Plenty – Gas, Electric, Water Companies and even High Street Banks have been re-branded. This is exactly what is happening to ALL qualifications – to fit into the QUALIFICATIONS & CREDIT FRAMEWORK (QCF). NVQs will look the same, taste the same and be delivered in the same way – but MIGHT have a different name. Some qualifications will still bear the NVQ name in brackets – to illustrate this point. For the millions of you who already hold an NVQ – your qualification is –and will continue to be recognised – and you will NOT be expected to top-up (or anything else the rumour mongers may tell you!) NVQ Academy’s message is loud and clear – we will continue to offer NVQs in exactly the same way as normal until the QCF equivalent is launched. We will then be offering the equivalent qualification under a slightly different name (e.g.“Diploma”). We will not change our name – we will continue to proudly fly the flag for Qualifications in the workplace – VOCATIONAL qualifications that are equally accessible to everybody (regardless of academic abilities), are completely non-discriminatory and have played THE major role in qualifying the workforce for the last twenty years. All the qualifications shown on our website are current and valid – and registration will remain open until at least the end of December 2010 (candidates will be given until December 2013 to submit results). |
